Testimonials from BRAWS Recipients:

"I am in a fortunate position where myself and my family are not struggling too much during this time. People such as yourself, that do this work and are dedicated to helping others, are what will pull this world through this tumultuous time. I’m glad to help in any small way I can and I am so very thankful there are people around this world that are lending a hand to those in need. It’s during these dark times where we must shine the brightest." - Caitlin Lichtenfels

"You are the BEST!!!
You are amazing to think of helping the entire family.  When we are distributing sanitary products to students, we are only able to give out pads for middle school students, but since this is for families, we can make tampons also available.  I am sure the families would also need underwear and bras.  It has been at least 7 months since we have seen most of the families and they need so much.  Sports bras are the most useful during the school year to help students feel comfortable changing for PE.
THANK YOU!!!
This is amazing and will be appreciated by our families."

- Teacher, Union Braxton Middle School (Formerly Stonewall Middle School)
Manassas, VA

"Thank YOU so much for all you do for the community!!!" - Sterling Middle School, Loudoun County

"You guys are amazing! This woman had tears in her eyes at the thought of having a new bra!  I wanted to thank you again for going above and beyond to help the individuals we serve. Your services have helped the women we work with feel confident and valued." - The Chris Atkins Foundation, Fairfax County

"You are truly wonderful!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!" - Woodbridge Workers Committee, Prince William County

"Thank you so much.  What you are doing makes a HUGE difference. I anticipate this year's need to be greater than in the past." - Eagle Ridge Middle School, Loudoun County

"WOW! You are amazing! Thank YOU so so so much!" - Manassas Park High School, Manassas Park City Schools

"Everything went smoothly yesterday.  Thank you so much for making it so easy for me.  At the school we had plenty of volunteers for the distribution. The families were more than pleased, very grateful for the products, and thanked BRAWS profusely." - BRAWS volunteer

"First, thank you, again, for you and Braws has done for our community." - Briar Woods High School, Loudoun County

"We are so excited to begin working with your wonderful organization." - Comfort Cases, nationwide

"So glad I get to be a part of helping BRAWS." - Teen Volunteer

“Thanks again for all the support — BRAWS donations are really helping the community” - Women Giving Back

"Huge thanks to our friends at BRAWS for their ongoing donations of feminine hygiene products. These donations take one more worry off the minds of the struggling families we serve." - Loudoun Hunger Relief

"This is from the July 30th food/non perishable distribution — takes place Thursday evenings off Heritage Road, Annandale, VA. I really appreciate BRAWS helping this Mission out— they were already dealing with those living in extreme poverty before COVID hit. Now things are 10Xs worse. Thanks to BRAWS —Betsy [who has run this Mission for over 10 years] is now known as the 'Feminine Hygiene Angel"   - BRAWS volunteer at AUMC

"Thank you for your dedication and generosity. I have been distributing the donations throughout the week and people are taken back by what BRAWS has been for our community." -Parent liaison at one of our Loudoun County high schools

"We are very excited to be a partner with BRAWS! Your emails even brought a few of us to tears. We've been providing food and essentials since March to almost 20,000 immigrants in DC/MD/VA on our very tiny shoestring budget. This new partnership will allow us and the families we deliver to a lot of breathing room. THANK YOU!" - New Partner Organization, Fairfax County

“Underwear is a huge gift. Since we serve 700 families a month through our hunger prevention center and another fifty individuals in our emergency shelter and domestic violence safe house, we use whatever you can give. I know underwear is hard to come by, particularly for the clients in our residential facilities, because they either don't have much or had to leave home without it. We give our residential clients vouchers for our thrift store, but other than bras and boxers, underwear is not available.” - ACTS, PWC

Thanks to Jack Heinbaugh and NBC Washington for helping us get the word out about the unbelievable need for menstrual supplies we have seen during this pandemic. Because of the publicity, we raised over $8000 to help women and girls! Click on the photo to the right to watch the full segment!

Thanks to our amazing staff and board, dedicated volunteers, and generous supporters, critical menstrual supplies and new undergarments have been delivered to thousands of individuals in crisis. Please remember, periods don’t stop in a pandemic  - we need to ensure that all those in our community continue to have access to basic needs.

Thanks you for your continued support.
Please stay healthy and safe!
